Moderation that still works when none of your team is online

Most rule breaking happens at night. So Nephthys takes over the routine: warnings are counted, a timeout kicks in automatically at the thresholds you set, and every action lands in the mod log with a case ID. Your team decides the rules, the bot enforces them.

Warnings that escalate on their own

/warn add records an offence together with a reason. You decide how many warnings trigger a timeout, and steps at 3, 5 and 10 are typical. Nobody has to remember how often a member has already been in trouble, and the whole team moderates by the same standard rather than by whoever happens to be on duty.

Every case stays traceable

/infractions shows a member's full history with case IDs, reasons and the moderator responsible. That matters most when someone disputes a sanction or comes back after months away: you can see what happened instead of scrolling through chat logs. Individual entries can be removed again with /warn clear.

The full toolkit for urgent cases

For anything that has to stop right now there is /timeout with a duration you choose, /kick and /ban, the latter optionally deleting recent messages. /clear tidies up a discussion that has gone off the rails, either wholesale or limited to one person's posts. Which channel receives the logs is set in the dashboard.

The commands for this

These slash commands belong to this module. Discord shows them with a description as you type, so nobody has to memorise them.

  • /warn
  • /timeout
  • /kick
  • /ban
  • /clear
  • /infractions

Frequently asked questions

Which permissions does the bot need to moderate?

For timeouts, kicks and bans Nephthys needs the matching Discord permissions and a role ranked above the members it moderates. Discord never lets anyone sanction members with a higher role. That applies to bots exactly as it does to people.

Can I take a warning back?

Yes. /warn clear removes a member's warnings again, which also lowers their escalation level. The case history exists to make decisions traceable, not to set mistakes in stone.

Are moderation actions logged?

Every action goes to the mod log channel you pick in the dashboard, with case ID, reason and the acting moderator. Without a channel set the commands still work, but no log is written.
